The Kilometre is Antiqua’s first commercial dive watch project. Steeped in tradition, it pays homage to another folk lore hero of the dive watch world which you can read all about here. Unlike the original, the Kilometre has greatly reduced it’s size to be more wearable, and increased it’s specifications from the original plexiglass to sapphire, changed the crown structure and improved the o-ring material. These changes only serve to increase the versatility of the dive watch. No longer is a dive watch heavy and clunky, but is now elegant and sleek. The minimalist style of the watch is further reflected in the sterile dial, caseback, buckle and case which have been intentionally left un-marked.

Graphics are kept to a minimum, only a single hand made lume pip is applied on the 2.5min gradated dive bezel. The inaugural version of the Kilometre is presented with a sandwich ‘California’ dial and polished gold plated hands to give it a vintage style.

The name Kilometre pays tribute to the original design which was coined Mille Metri due to its water proof rating. The 1000m WR for the Kilometre is continued by using ‘Viton’ red o-rings (which can be seen peeking out from under the glass), an energised lip seal for the crown so that the crown can be used without being screwed down or with a crown protector (which has been trademarked), 5mm thick sapphire glass and a 12 bolt structure to keep everything together. The Kilometre is powered by a Swiss Made Cal AM200 which has been customised. This ubiquitous movement adds to the robustness of the watch. As much as the Kilometre is a true dive watch in looks and specifications, we also recognise that the true application for it may be more sedentary, hence it is supplied with 2 premium leather straps (light tan and black) and a travelling pouch. 24mm straps have been chosen for this to give it more versatility and selection.
